1. Introduction
Welcome to TeenCycle (the "App"), a mobile application developed and operated by Laura Rooney ("we," "us," "our," or the "Developer"). This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information when you use it on your iOS or Android device.
TeenCycle has been engineered around a single, fundamental principle: your privacy is non-negotiable. The App operates entirely offline. We do not maintain servers, we do not host databases, and we do not have any way to access, view, or collect the information you enter into the App.
By downloading, installing, or using TeenCycle, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms described herein, please do not install or use the App.
This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the TeenCycle mobile application. It does not apply to our website (https://teencycle.com), to third-party services such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or to any other product or service operated by any other party.
2. Data Storage & Privacy by Design
2.1 No Data Collection
TeenCycle is designed under a "Privacy by Design" and "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. This means:
- We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, share, or process any personal information about you.
- We do not operate or maintain any external servers, cloud databases, or backend infrastructure that receives data from the App.
- We do not use analytics tools, advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, cookies, fingerprinting technologies, or any other mechanism that would transmit your usage data to us or to any third party.
- We do not require you to create an account, register, sign in, provide an email address, or submit any personal information to use the App.
2.2 Local-Only Storage
All information you enter into the App — including, but not limited to, cycle logs, notes, dates, symptoms, mood entries, settings, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage mechanisms provided by the operating system (such as AsyncStorage on Android, the local file system on iOS, or equivalent secure on-device storage).
Because all data is stored locally on your device:
- The data never leaves your device through the App.
- We have no technical ability to access, read, decrypt, retrieve, recover, modify, or delete your data.
- We cannot respond to data access, portability, or correction requests, because we do not hold any of your data. You have full and exclusive control of the data on your device at all times.
2.3 Your Control Over Your Data
You may delete all data stored by the App at any time by:
- Using any in-app deletion or reset feature, if available.
- Clearing the App's storage through your device settings.
- Uninstalling the App from your device.
Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored TeenCycle data unless your device's operating system has separately backed up that data through a system-level backup feature (such as iCloud Backup or Google One Backup) that you have enabled. Any such backups are governed by Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies, not by us.
2.4 Device Permissions
The App may request operating system–level permissions (such as notifications, biometric unlock, or local file access) solely to provide on-device functionality. Granting or denying these permissions does not result in any data transmission to us. You may revoke any granted permission at any time through your device settings.
3. Third-Party Services
While the App itself does not transmit any data, certain third parties are necessarily involved in the distribution, payment processing, and operation of the App. We do not control these third parties, and their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
3.1 Apple App Store and Google Play Store
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store (operated by Apple Inc.) and the Google Play Store (operated by Google LLC). When you download, install, update, or purchase a subscription to the App, the relevant store may collect information from you — such as your account identifier, device information, payment information, and purchase history — in accordance with their own policies.
We receive only aggregated, anonymized, and non-identifying information from these platforms (for example, total download counts or aggregate revenue reports). We never receive your name, email address, payment card details, billing address, or any other personally identifiable information through the platforms.

3.2 Subscription and Payment Processing
TeenCycle offers a 3-day free trial followed by an auto-renewing subscription of $4.99 USD per year (or local-currency equivalent), processed exclusively by Apple or Google through their respective platforms. We never see, receive, or store your payment information. All billing, refunds, renewals, and cancellations are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their terms.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play account settings.
3.3 No Other Third Parties
The App does not integrate any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, social media logins, crash-reporting tools, or analytics frameworks that transmit your data off-device.
4. Children's Privacy
TeenCycle is intended for use by a general audience, including teenagers. We take the privacy of younger users extremely seriously.
4.1 COPPA Compliance (United States)
The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") prohibits the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. Because the App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information about any user — regardless of age — on any server or external system, the App is fully compliant with COPPA by design.
We do not knowingly request, collect, or solicit any personal information from any child or any other user.
4.2 GDPR-K, UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and Other Jurisdictions
The same zero-data-collection principle applies under the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation as it pertains to children ("GDPR-K"), the United Kingdom's Age Appropriate Design Code (the "Children's Code"), and similar children's privacy laws worldwide. Because no data is collected by us, there is no personal data of children (or any users) that could be processed, profiled, or shared.
4.3 Parental Guidance
We encourage parents and guardians of younger users to review this Privacy Policy and to supervise their children's use of mobile applications generally. If a parent or guardian has any questions about how the App works, they may contact us using the information in Section 6.
5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable laws, or our practices. When we do, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy.
- Post the revised Privacy Policy at https://teencycle.com and within the App where reasonably practicable.
- For material changes, take reasonable additional steps to notify users, which may include an in-app notice upon the next launch following the change.
Your continued use of the App after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with any change, you should discontinue use of the App and uninstall it from your device.
6. Contact Information
